Google Pixel Tablet: discover in video the interface that will make iPadOS tremble
Google has announced its return to the tablet market for 2023. Its next slate, the "Pixel Tablet" is just a picture so far. But our colleagues from 9to5Google had fun imagining the interface of the tablet based on the latest software innovations launched by Google to prepare for the arrival of its new product.
After abandoning the tablet market in 2019, Google decided to return to it. The American giant has not produced any slate under Android since the Pixel C in 2015. The brand also launched the Pixel Slate under Chrome OS in 2018, before throwing in the towel on this format. But the success of Pixel smartphones has probably changed Google's mind, which has new ambitions in a market dominated by Apple and Samsung.
A Google Pixel Tablet for 2023
It was in May 2022, during the last Google I/O conference, that the company lifted the veil on its future products. It was on this occasion that the Google Pixel 7 and 7 Pro, the Pixel Watch and the Pixel Tablet were mentioned. With the first three products now available, all eyes are logically on the tablet.
We don't know much about it yet, except that it should be docked and that Android will now better support large screens (about time). One more proof that the Mountain View giant is finally taking the subject seriously. We also know that the tablet will be powered by an in-house processor like the Google Tensor 2 found on the Pixel 7.
A promising interface
Google is actively working behind the scenes to bring Android to the tablet. It is now possible to get a glimpse of it thanks to the beta versions of Android (12L and 13), as well as adjustments made to Google applications to take advantage of large screen diagonals. The most recent Android beta (Android 12 QPR2) is expected to be released in stable by March 2023, in time for the next Google I/O conference which is expected to take place in the month. of May.
This means that the interface available today in beta is close to that which we should see during the official launch of the Google Pixel Tablet. It was enough for the 9to5Google team to adapt the current interface and force certain features in Android applications to get a preview of the future tablet interface. The video you are about to see should be taken with a grain of salt as it is not official.
We start logically with the home page on which we find the clock. The latter can be moved to the left to make room for notifications. At the bottom of the screen, there is the Google search bar as well as applications with very refined icons. The interface also gives pride of place to widgets which can obviously be moved and resized.
The ability to quickly switch between users from the top right corner of the interface hints at family use of the tablet. As on a smartphone, an upward gesture displays all the applications. The notification panel is split in two with shortcuts on one side and notifications on the other.

With its newly announced new measures, Meta explains that it wants to improve the privacy protection of teenagers on Facebook and Instagram. A laudable proposal, but which probably comes a little late, since young people are less and less interested in these platforms.
Bought by Elon Musk for 44 billion dollars, the platform, like others, bet on free access to its subscribers. But she struggles to make her audience profitable.
The problem: its virtual platform Horizon Worlds only brought together 200,000 users after eighteen years of non-stop hiring, Mark Zuckerberg announced the layoff of 13% of the company's workforce. It must be said that the avatars proposed do not yet have legs…
On the one hand, Meta boasts extended security settings for young people and, on the other hand, shocked by accusations from some users who reported that Meta employees stole user accounts and extorted several thousand US dollars from users.
A new breed of scam on Instagram is causing fear among creator account users. Many of them have built up a large reach over the years with a lot of commitment. Now they have to fear that their account will suddenly be blocked – by Instagram.
Meta employees apparently stole users' Facebook and Instagram accounts. In some cases, ransom payments were even demanded for the release of the accounts.
There is no doubt that the Google maps platform is one of the most popular in the world. Many users rely on Google Maps when looking for businesses, knowing if a restaurant is good, or moving safely by car or motorcycle. Despite the fact that these features stand out from the rest, the application (and also its web version) has a large number of hidden tricks. Do you want to meet them?
There are many, many apps in the Google Play Store and some of them are actually perfectly tailored for use by children. Unfortunately, this is by far not the case for all apps that actually claim this. Google has drafted its own guidelines for this and based them on the two programs "Designed for Families" and "Teacher Approved". Both should ensure compliance with various criteria and approve corresponding apps, with the latter program educators are actually called in to help.
How two unknown entrepreneurs inspire millions with the YouTube format "7 vs. Wild" - and who benefits from it
The American Youtube streamer Ludwig Ahgren will be online for 50 hours from tomorrow. Not an exceptional thing in itself, streamers nowadays often organize so-called “subathons”. Still, this marathon stream is going to be different from all the others. Ahgren will not stay in his own trusted stream studio at home during the 50 hours, but will be locked up in a glass cage in the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. One of the most famous gaming events in the world will take place there this weekend: Dreamhack. As a result, this time, outside of his normal digital audience, he will also be able to be followed non-stop by the thousands of Dreamhack attendees.
